Why Work at Erie Insurance?

Our employees are what make Erie Insurance such a great place to work – which is why our interview process is so important. We’re always looking for service-driven candidates who share our passion for helping people, because at its core, that’s what insurance is all about.

At ERIE, we want you to find more than a job, but a career filled with opportunity and a culture that feels like family. Thinking of applying? Keep reading for some pro tips to stand out from the crowd.

Why Insurance?

We get it: Insurance doesn’t sound like the most invigorating field of study. In fact, you’ll hear many people at ERIE say they never expected to end up here. But once they did, they don’t regret it. Why?

  • Opportunity: Insurance isn’t all about selling policies or analyzing risk. But even if that does sound like the perfect job for you, it doesn’t have to be a lifetime commitment. ERIE offers an array of educational opportunities to help gain licenses and designations, expand your leadership experience and move throughout the company. There’s a reason people stay with ERIE for 30+ years, and having a career filled with variety is one of them.
  • Reward: We believe in taking care of our employees. Our benefits go beyond the basics, with tools to maintain your health and manage your work-life commitments.
  • Culture: We embrace the ERIE family spirit by supporting one another through charitable giving, volunteering, employee events and networking opportunities. But overall, it comes back to the Golden Rule – our founders lead ERIE with it back in 1925, and we continue to do so today.

Popular Jobs in Insurance

From actuaries to claims consultants, the insurance industry does have some specialized positions. But just like any other company, ERIE also has departments such as marketing, IT, customer service and human resources. We encourage you to apply to any position that sounds perfect for you.

And those career opportunities barely scratch the surface. Check out all available career opportunities with ERIE.

How do I get started?

So you’ve found a job you think you’d be great at? Help your application stand out from the rest with these tips:

  • Adjust your resume for that specific position. Every job is different, so you’ll want to tailor your resume to help our talent acquisition partners and hiring managers see why you’d be a great applicant. For example, if you’re applying for a customer service position, make sure your previous customer service experience is prominent in your resume.
  • Pay close attention to the job requirements. Does the position say you need at least 2 years of experience or a certification? Be sure to list how you meet those requirements in your application.
  • Do you need a cover letter? That question depends on the position, but overall, a cover letter will help support your application. If a big part of the job is writing, a cover letter is an easy way to showcase your writing capabilities. Cover letters also give you space to dive further into how your specific experience applies to the job. If you don’t think your resume says enough, a cover letter is an easy way to let your story shine.
