How ERIE Gave Back in 2013
To mark the Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service, ERIE volunteers joined the American Red Cross, East Tennessee Region, to hand out fire safety materials to residents in Knoxville. ERIE also made a monetary donation to support the work of the Red Cross.
A team from the Illinois Branch of Erie Insurance provided sponsorships and pledges for the annual St. Jude Give Thanks Walk in Washington, Ill. Each year, the Walk raises tens of thousands of dollars to support St. Jude Children's Hospital. (Note: This year's Walk was originally scheduled to take place in Washington, IL but was cancelled due to a tornado that damaged much of the town. ERIE volunteers participated in Rochester, New York’s annual Lollypop Farm Telethon that raises money for the Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester. Volunteers manned the phone bank and ERIE made a monetary donation.
Employees and Agents representing ERIE’s New York branch office and several local agencies packed and delivered food for Meals on Wheels of Chemung County in Elmira, N.Y. The team then formed a caravan to hit the streets of Elmira and deliver the food.

The Erie Insurance March of Dimes walk team laced up their sneakers to have fun and do good while participating in the annual March for Babies Walk for Babies on Presque Isle in Erie, Pa. Every year, hundreds of Employees and Agents sign up to run and walk in community fundraisers like this one.
To celebrate its 25-year partnership with Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary School near its Home Office, ERIE hosted a "Chorus Extravaganza" featuring musical performances by the students. ERIE's Cultural Awareness/Community Citizenship committee also donated nearly 100 age-relevant books about diversity to the school.
After a tornado ravaged Washington, Ill., shortly before Thanksgiving, Employees and Agents handed out more than 200 boxed lunches to residents the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. ERIE then hosted a holiday dinner in December that included a donation to the local Red Cross.

Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit organization that rehabs homes for low-income homeowners across the country. Upgrades included weatherizing doors and windows, installing handrails, improving lighting, making minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and securing exterior doors.

Erie Insurance representatives supported the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee by delivering 3,000 pounds of food they collected over a two-month period. They also made a monetary donation to the Wisconsin hunger relief organization.
